Here is a preview of “Irregardless Regardless Regarding Romance”. I’m not sure how well that title works, if at all, but it sounded neat to me when I thought of it at 4 in the morning, so until I think of something better, that’ll have to do.
Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy it and come back on the 11th for the rest!

“Are you ready for this?” mused *Jeneveve, a hand resting on her hip as the other toyed with a shiny new dagger bought only that morning from a local street vendor. It was a plain little thing, a black rubber handle and a blade freshly sharpened for the purchase.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” countered Xora, who raised her arms above her then, towards the heavens, giving her frame a might stretch in preparation for what was to come. Beneath them a bustling, thriving city went about its business as usual. T’was early in the morning still, the warm reds, oranges and pinks of dawn still lingered in the west whilst ever higher the bright orange sun rose higher and higher. It’s magnificent rays burning away the last remains of night while it made its way across the sky.
For several silent minutes the two women looked down over the already bustling morning traffic. Women carting their children down the streets, carriages plodding along over the freshly laid cobblestones, street cleaners milling about, dispersing of the odd clumps of dirt of debris remaining from the previous day whilst also attending to the newly left bits. Vendors were firing up their kiosks and their carts; those that served food had already begun preparing for the traffic by starting their cooking early. Thus by the time the first rays of the sun had started to show, curly tendrils of smoke rose upwards, entering Jeneveve and Xora’s nostrils and causing their mouths to water in simultaneous affirmation of their mutual hunger…

Whelp. I hate my story. Hated writing it this year, got writer’s block more than I can count, but with a lot of work, long nights and zoning/spacing out and listening to rain while I wrote, my current word count is thus: 50473
Next year I’m going to have a different plan of attack. I tried a Steampunk-y story this year and it have me so much trouble, I guess because I’d never done it before. Oh, and despite kind of loving her, I really wound up disliking my heroine. She became one of those independent girls to a fault. Overly stubborn, Hamlet-level second-guessing herself.. And so forth. I mean, I adore her. She’s sassy and smart and such, but what she was so much work to develop. Bad Kathryn, BAD. XD
Next year, providing I’m going to do it (never count chickens before they hatch and all. I want to say I’m 75% sure I am, but come this time next year I don’t want to be working my ass off or heavens forbid be sick or some such, et certa) I’m going to do something really fantasy-ish.
Possibly a sequel to my first years thing that I never actually finished although I had/have it planned out.
Anyway. Carry on.
Is anyone other than me having serious NaNoWriMo dread?
I did it last year to show one of my friends that I could do it, and I did. I think I could do it again. I have two separate ideas I could possibly turn into a story if I wanted to, but I’m not sure how much I do.
Sometimes it feels to me, that you’re made to think that if you don’t do NaNo that you’re not a ‘serious’ writer and only ‘serious’ writers take part in NaNoWriMo. Etc etc etc. When I think of NaNo I can’t help but imagine this group of elitist writers sitting around and doing nothing but gloating about how good of a writer they are.
I don’t know. Sometimes I really can’t stand NaNo, but again, I’ll probably wind up doing it again to prove to people and myself especially, that last year wasn’t a fluke. It just really drives me nuts sometimes to hear people getting in a tizzy about Nano. Let me have my October before being inundated with ‘OMG IT’S TIME FOR NANO I HAVE NO IDEAS WHAT DO I DO? IT’S NANO TIME WHO IS NANO-ING?! NANONANO!’
Is that bad? Is there anyone else having a NaNoWriMo anxiety attack already?
A new piece of the TotTSM puzzle is up! Check it out HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, we’ve all got a game or a series or some kind of thing we’ve come across that we’ve turned or thought about turning into a fanfic or short story at least once (and if you deny it I call bullshit) .
In addition to what I hope to be turning out every Monday, I thought I would try and eek this out as well, on Fridays. Give or take a day or two.
In this installment, the character will be a female, I DO plan to release a gay/Yaoi (whatever you kids want to call it these days) version at some point, but I decided to start off with a female because if Balthier was real I would totally marry him and have all his babies.. And since this is a GLPoF, why not indulge in that a little? Anyway, enjoy (or try) .
